Tours and Guides

Walking tours depart every day at 10:30 from Chester Tourtist Information Centre in the Town Hall Square. The choices include a tour where the guide is one of the few full time Roman Soldiers in the UK. Tours can apparently be conducted in the following languages (with advance notice?): French, Italian, Spanish, German, Japanese, Cantonese, Mandarin, Shanghai, Romanian, Russian, Dutch and Welsh. Tours include the History Hunter trail, Ghost Hunter Trail and Roman Soldier Patrol.
The incomparable Steve Howe also does several different guided walks (including a tour round pubs that are not there any more), Steve is probably one of the best-informed people on the planet about the history of Chester and runs the award winning Virtual-Stroll website.
