[edit] Shopping in Chester
Retail is a major part of Chesterâs economy and the shops attract people from as far away as Anglesey and the borders of east Cheshire. Thereâs something for everyone and their budget in Chester, from pound shops to designer labels. 2007 has seen the opening of many new designer shops and branches of upmarket chains: Hardy Amies, All Saints, Space NK, to name but a few. At the same time, 2007 has seen the highest number of empty premises in the city centre (42 in the summer), indicating that rents and rates are still too high - a worrying sign for independent traders.
Use this page as a starting point to browse through most (but not all) of the places in Chester where you can shop till you drop.
This is not a comprehensive list of shops, and weâve deliberately avoided including branches of nationwide chainstores. If you want to add shops, go ahead! Just make sure that to link them correctly or nobody will be able to find them.
