[edit] "UK Banking Association"

Date noted: 9th April 2009.

MO: Will ring you up asking whether you are happy with the service that your bank provides, then ask for the name of your bank. If you answer that you are cautious about giving such information over the phone (as I did), they will hang up at once, without even a word of goodbye. A web search indicates that no such organisation exists. Probably Phishing.

Advice: Never give any details of your bank to cold callers.

Since we noted this further info has appeared in the Chronicle. My own caller had an "Indian" accent as well, although I considered it prejudicial to mention it when first writing this.

[edit] Dodgy Builders

The elderly are often prey to dubious builders who will offer to "fix the roof".

If someone has called at your home uninvited and carried out work that you’re unhappy or worried about call Consumer Direct on 08454 04 05 06.ŠŠ
