Polski Sklep
From Chester Wiki
[edit] Info
The recent influx of Polish migrants into Chester since the EU expanded has led to the very welcome addition of Polski Sklep on Brook Street. There are very few places in Chester that sell ethnic foods - normally one has to venture to Liverpool for more exotic fare.
Polski Sklep sells a fantastic range of East European foods, mainly Polish: kabanos (a long, skinny, spicy salami), bigos (meaty stew), pickled gherkins, tins of red and green pickled cabbage, and the very delicious plums in chocolate, which are dried plums soaked in liqueur and coated in dark chocolate. Once tried, you'll be hooked on them. There is a cherry variety too.
The staff are very friendly and helpful - if you're not au fait with Polish foods, they'll be happy to advise you and give you cooking tips.
This is a sister branch to the original shop in Wrexham.
