Garden Lane always reminds one of "the kite" in Cambridge, "Jericho" in Oxford and Jordaan in Amsterdam. All have (or had) a strong community spirit, some very small bistros, a lot of students and all are full of people who go into shops for a packet of Riz-la+ but don't buy tobacco. Upper Cambrian Road sounds like a something out of a geology textbook (although there are no plans to rename it "Furongian Road") but boasts some pretty impressive mansions.
