Chester Chamber of Commerce is the first stop for most people in business or thinking of starting one up. It runs a very good free start-up course for would-be entrepreneurs (contact Tricia Hough). An excellent resource for free advice and support. Paid membership offers a number of benefits, including regular networking events (some of which are open to non-members), although membership seems mainly geared towards companies rather than sole traders.
