I think it is fair to say that The Arkle is Chester's premier dining experience. It has the city's one and only Michelin star (and has done so for 17 consecutive years!) and offers a vast array of top quality wines from around the world. The exceptional menu changes seasonally, and the emphasis is on using the very best, fresh local produce in imaginative and innovative ways. At the beginning of 2005, The Arkle received a favourable review in The Guardian from Victor Lewis Smith, who is probably a little better than I when it comes to reviewing restaurants, and for that reason I include it here:
